Here are some examples of letters that people have written as part of their
Couples Enlightenment experience.
Dear Peggy,
I don't feel safe when we argue. I suspect it is because you know how to rapidly build an argument and I do not, making me feel inadequate. I think I feel safer if you would slow down when we are arguing, giving me time to consider each part of the issues as presented without feeling badgered.

Dear George,
I like it when we laugh about farts and my cold feet and hands and how you'd let me touch you and still love me. Living with you is fun!

Love, Peggy
Dear Dean,
I feel we are equal partners in our relationship. We both contribute to our relationships and are equally important. I like the fact that I can trust you to treat me as an equal. When it comes to a specific skill area, I don't always feel like you're equal, but that is OK- we balance each other. You are so much better at being a "friend" to other people. You keep in touch, you send cards, and you remember people's names.  It helps me to feel good and look good because you do these things in both our names.

Love, Stan
Dear Denise,
I see your fidelity to our relationship when we are out with a group and people are drawn to  your laughter and your smile. Men sense what a great companion you are and enjoy your company. Even though you know that people find you attractive, you'd rather be with me. Not only do I sense your strong devotion at these times, I am proud you chose me. I am also proud we each have had a part in who the other has become.

Love, Ned
Hi Vito,
Today's topic is romance and aging. When I think about growing old with you, I think.... There's no one else in this world I would rather grow old with than you. I'll show you my wrinkles if you show me yours!

I love you, Nora
